Yes I'm answering my own question here.
First it shouldn't take anywhere near an hour to download MobileTree from the iTunes App Store. MobileTree should download in about 5 minutes or less since the size of the package is about 8MB.
If it takes much longer than this then there is probably a problem with your internet connection.
The error message is probably due to the application being corrupted or only partially downloaded because of the very poor internet connection.
To solve the problem I would suggest that you:
1) Delete MobileTree from your iPhone or iPod Touch.
2) Make sure that you have a good connection to the internet via 3G or WiFi.
3) Download the application again. You will NOT have to pay for it again. iTunes will remember that you have already purchased the app and will allow you to download the app without have to pay for it again.
